材料科学与化学工程学院现有金属材料工程（中国工程教育认证专业、国家一流专业）、无机非金属材料工程（中国工程教育认证专业、国家一流专业）、化学工程与工艺（国家一流专业、中国工程教育认证申请受理专业）、环境工程（国家一流专业、中国工程教育认证受理专业）、高分子材料与工程（国家特色专业、省一流专业，中国工程教育认证申请受理专业）、材料成型及控制工程（中国工程教育认证专业、省一流专业）、材料化学（省一流专业、中国工程教育认证申请受理专业）、材料物理、制药工程、食品科学与工程共计10个本科专业。学院设有材料分析测试中心、实验中心、工程实践中心以及20多个研究室（所）。现有教职工170人，其中新世纪百千万人才工程国家级人选1人，教育部新世纪人才1人，全国优秀教师1人，龙江学者3人，省杰青4人，省思政名师1人，省级教学师德标兵4人，黑龙江省研究生优秀导师团队2个，博士生导师25人，硕士生导师106人。目前在校本科生3100多人，研究生400多人。
学院拥有材料科学与工程一级学科博士学位授予权和博士后科研流动站，化学工程与技术、材料学、材料加工工程、材料物理与化学、高分子化学与物理（理学）5个学科具有硕士学位授予权，以及材料与化工领域工程硕士授予权。拥有材料科学与工程省级重点学科、国家级工程教育中心、先进制造智能化技术教育部重点实验室、黑龙江省轻金属材料改性与绿色成型技术重点实验室、黑龙江省绿色化工技术重点实验室、黑龙江省铝镁合金材料（校企共建）重点实验室、黑龙江省轻合金材料（校企共建）工程技术研究中心、黑龙江省液态金属质量快速评价及先进成型技术创新中心、黑龙江省石墨-石墨烯应用技术协同创新中心、材料研究与应用省高校重点实验室、材料科学与工程省级研究生培养实践示范基地等平台。
学院拥有良好的教学、科研、工程训练条件，大型仪器设备有透射电镜、扫描电镜、X射线衍射仪、FT-IR光谱仪、热重及差示扫描量热仪、直读光谱仪、数码金相显微镜、凝胶渗透色谱仪等。2016年以来学院承担科技部重点研发计划、国家自然科学基金重大项目等国家级/省部级项目40余项。承担项目合同总额8500多万元，发表SCI论文300余篇，授权发明专利120余件，获得国家级二等奖1项，省级二等奖7项、三等奖7项。
学院重视与国内外高等学校、科研院所、大型企业集团（公司）的学术交流与合作。同加拿大女王大学、美国加州大学、英国谢菲尔德大学、日本京都大学、日本新澙工科大学、澳大利亚昆士兰大学、韩国蔚山大学、哈尔滨工业大学、机械科学研究院、哈尔滨焊接研究所、中国航发哈尔滨东安发动机公司、长春第一汽车集团公司、齐齐哈尔一重、齐齐哈尔铁路车辆（集团）有限责任公司、东轻公司等单位建立了良好的合作关系。
The School of Material Science and Chemical Engineering
The School of Material Science & Chemical Engineering offers 10 bachelor-degree programs, including the Metal Materials Engineering (national key specialty), Inorganic Non-metal Material Engineering (national key specialty), Chemical Engineering and Technology(national key specialty), Environmental Engineering (national key specialty), Macromolecule Materials Engineering (provincial key specialty), Materials Forming and Controlling Engineering (provincial key specialty), Materials Chemistry (provincial key specialty), Materials physics, Pharmaceutical Engineering and Food Science and Engineering. It also includes Material Analysis and Testing Center, experimental center, engineering practice center and more than 20 research groups. There are 170 staffs, including 1 national candidate for the new century talents project, 1 talent from the Ministry of education, 1 national excellent teacher, 3 Longjiang scholars, 4 provincial outstanding youth, 1 provincial ideological and political teacher, 4 provincial teaching teachers and 4 moral standards, 2 excellent tutors team of graduate students in Heilongjiang Province,25 doctoral supervisors and 106 master supervisors. There are more than 3100 undergraduates and 400 graduate students.
The School offers the doctoral degree program and post-doctor research program in the discipline of material science & engineering, as well as 5 master-degree programs: chemical engineering and technology, material science, material processing engineering, material physics and chemistry and macromolecule chemistry and physics, and the engineering master-degree program in materials and chemical engineering. There are some platforms, such as the provincial key discipline of “materials science and engineering”, National Engineering Practice Education Center, Key Laboratory of Advanced Manufacturing and Intelligent Technology, Ministry of Education, Heilongjiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Light Metal Materials Modification & Green Forming Technology, Heilongjiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Aluminum & Magnesium Alloy Materials, Heilongjiang Provincial Engineering Research Center of Light Alloy Materials, Heilongjiang Provincial University Key Laboratory of Materials Development & Application, Heilongjiang Provincial Innovation Practice Demonstration Base for Materials Science and Engineering Graduate Training, and so on.
The School has the excellent facilities for teaching, research and engineering practice. It has some valuable instruments and equipment such as TEM, SEM，XRD, FTIR, TGA, DSC, OES, digital metallurgical microscope, GPC an so on. Since 2016, it has undertaken 85 million RMB scientific research projects, published 300 papers indexed by SCI, got 120 invention patents, gained 1 national-level, 7 second prizes and 7 third prizes of provincial-level science and technology reward.
The School lays emphasis on the academic exchanges and cooperation with other universities and institutes both at home and abroad. It has established good partnership with Queen's University, University of California at Berkeley, The University of Sheffield, Kyoto University, Niigata Institute of Technology, Queensland University, University of Ulsan, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin Welding Institute, First Automobile Works Group, Qiqihar Locomotives Ltd., Northern Light Alloy Company Ltd., Harbin Hafei Automobile Industry Group Company Ltd., and so on.
